Thomas Lyons, Counter-Tenor

Thomas Lyons, a versatile vocalist and passionate worship leader who currently serves as the Director of Music and Worship Arts at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina.

With a background in voice performance and church music, Thomas brings over a decade of experience as a singer, conductor, and worship curator. His training includes a Bachelor of Music in Voice from High Point University and a Master of Arts in Church Music from Trinity Lutheran Seminary. He has sung in and directed choirs across various denominations and styles—blending classical, gospel, contemporary, and multicultural traditions into rich, spirit-filled worship experiences.

Originally from New Jersey, Thomas’s musical journey has taken him up and down the East Coast, shaping a voice that is not only expressive and grounded in technique, but also deeply rooted in faith. Whether singing solo or harmonizing within a group, he strives to communicate the heart of each piece and connect with the community through music.

Outside of his ministry work, Thomas enjoys spending quality time with friends, cooking, and embracing life after bariatric surgery—often testing out new recipes that align with his health journey. His joy for life and music is infectious, and he’s always ready to lift his voice in song and in spirit.
