Elizabeth Loparits, Pianist
In addition to her collaborative pianist role with Wilmington Voices, Elizabeth Loparits also serves as lecturer and faculty collaborative pianist at the UNCW Department of Music, collaborative pianist with Opera Wilmington and Southern Harmonie, and pianist/organist at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.
Loparits has given recitals in Hungary, Costa Rica, and throughout the United States, including the recent world premiere of Meira Warshauer’s Ocean Calling Trilogy at the Southern Exposure New Music Series in Columbia, SC. Other recent performances include recitals at the Society for American Music Conference in Tacoma, WA, the Sax Fest International Conference in San Jose, Costa Rica, the UNCW Beckwith Recital Series, and the Kenan Chapel Recital Series. As soloist, Loparits has appeared on UNCW’s Lumina Festival and Piano Masterworks Series, and with the Wilmington Symphony and the Opera Wilmington Orchestras.
Loparits had recorded with Navona Records, collaborated at the North American Saxophone Alliance Conference, the Ronald Sachs International Music Competition, the Richard Luby International Violin Symposium, Opera North, and with a winner of the American Protégé Competition at Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall.
Loparits holds degrees in music from the Franz Liszt Academy in Pecs, Hungary (BA); Illinois State University (MM); and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (DMA). She is also director of the Beckwith Young Artist Showcase Competition and Winners Recital, providing a way to recognize and offer public performance opportunity to talented students in the Cape Fear region.
