Alexa Skelly, Mezzo-Soprano

Alexa Skelly, mezzo soprano, has enjoyed singing abroad for multiple years at the Laudate Dominum Choral Workshop in St. Polten, Austria under the baton of Erwin Ortner and for two Honors Recitals at UNCW where she performed as Emperor Nero in Pur ti Miro from L'incoronazione di Poppea and Che Faro Senza Euridice from Orfeo ed Euridice. She now enjoys singing with the Cape Fear Chorale and Wilmington Voices. Alexa has taught in Wilmington for five years, her choruses have earned superior ratings and she has had students accepted in the North Carolina State Honors Chorus.

Alexa is the Middle and Upper School Choral Director and Fine Arts Department Chair at Cape Fear Academy in Wilmington, North Carolina. She earned an Associate's in Fine Arts Degree at Mitchell Community College in her hometown of Statesville, North Carolina and a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

Newly married, Alexa and her husband Colin enjoy living in Wilmington and going to the beach, gardening, and spoiling their cat, Winnie.
