Alex Gazda, Bass

Alex Gazda, bass, is a Wilmington native and lover of great choral music. He has sung as a featured soloist with Opera Wilmington, the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra, the North Carolina Baroque Symphony Orchestra, and in Vienna, Austria with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Laudate Dominum Orchestra, the Anton Bruckner Orchestra of Linz, and the ICAK Orchestra under the distinguished batons of Erwin Ortner, Lahav Shani, Markus Poschner, Thomas Holmes, and Dr. Wolfgang Reisinger. He lived and worked in Vienna for three years as a professional choral singer and soloist, singing with The Oktogon, Philharmonia Chor Wien, Cantus Novus, and others.

Alex has enjoyed singing stateside with Dr. Joe Hickman, Dr. Aaron Peisner, and others, and under the vocal tutelages of Nancy King and Caroline Crupi. He is a featured soloist on the 2021 release of Naxos’s complete recordings of Beethoven’s compositions. Alex has cherished singing with many friends who became colleagues and colleagues who became friends, and he looks forward to singing with Wilmington Voices.
